Data collection for shadow detection [2019]
In this project, aerial data for shadow detection was collected using an MX1 drone equipped with various sensors, including RGB, multi-spectral, hyper-spectral, lidar, and thermal cameras. To create a challenging shadow detection scenario, 14 colored panels were placed in both shadowed and non-shadowed areas. Multiple flights were conducted at different times of the day to capture high-resolution images under varying lighting conditions. This diverse dataset was then used to train machine learning models, addressing the critical task of shadow detection in computer vision.
